Pence Takes The Stage At “Black Voices For Trump Event,” Says POTUS Will Win Reelection By “Historic Percentage Of African-Americans”

There must be a lot of Adderall going around in this administration.

Gregory Cheadle, the man that Donald Trump touted during his candidacy as “my African-American” in 2016, left the Republican Party. There just isn’t much African-American support for this “administration.” So, Trump is pandering to African-American voters on Friday at the World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and Vice-President Mike Pence kicked off the launch of the “Black Voices for Trump” coalition a year out from the 2020 election.

Pence touted the Republican party’s history on race, noting that Lincoln freed the slaves and the first black members of Congress were Republicans. However, he seems to have totally forgotten about our country’s first black president, who is a Democrat. You know, he’s that guy who Donald Trump is obsessively jealous of.

Then, Pence somehow claimed that Trump will be re-elected with “a historic percentage of African-Americans,” and we’re not sure where he got that number since the former reality show star received a dismal 8% of the black vote in 2016.

Pence then told the crowd of supporters to tell black voters that “the Republican Party is their party, tell them that the Republican Party is where they belong.”

Yeah, OK, like these black voters who attended the event, I assume:

Trump has exaggerated lied about his role in bringing economic gains to black Americans and he has regularly targeted people of color on Twitter. Trump has failed to condemn police brutality, and he’s never apologized to the Central Park Five for taking out a full-page ad to call for the execution of the black and Latino teens who were accused of a brutal rape even after a DNA test proved they were falsely incarcerated.

According to USA Today, the Atlanta event drew only a few hundred African American supporters, and the Miami-based group “Blacks for Trump” traveled to Atlanta to support the launch of the coalition. Trump is going to need more than a few hundred African-American voters on election day.

Mr. Pence, does mother know you’re drinking?
