Pentagon Report Seems To Break Drastically With Trump Claims Of Soldier “Headaches”: 34 Diagnosed With Brain Injuries After Iran Strike

But sure, he cares so much about the military.

Trump recently found himself cornered by a reporter during his Davos trip who confronted him over his claims that there were no serious injuries sustained by American service members as a result of Iran’s retaliation missile strike against a US military base in Iraq after Trump ordered the assassination of Quds Force Leader Qassem Soleimani.

The journalist questioned Trump’s oft-repeated claims that no one suffered more than a “headache” as a result of the attack and brought up the numerous reports indicating that several US troops were airlifted from the base in the aftermath of the strike for traumatic head injuries.

Despite the reporter’s best attempts at making the president fess up to the damages sustained by the retaliation strike he caused, Trump stuck tight to his guns and refused to admit that there were any “serious” injuries.

However, Donald may have a bit more trouble disputing those original reports now that his very own Pentagon has seemed to drastically break from his claims, releasing a report that directly contradicts Trump’s claims, stating that a total of 34 United States service members have now been diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries as a direct result of the Iran retaliation strike in Iraq.

According to the new report, a total of seventeen troops who were injured in the attack have returned to active duty in Iraq, sixteen of whom were treated for their afflictions locally.

Nine of the affected service members are still currently under treatment in Germany while another eight troops who had originally been flown to Germany have now been moved to the United States for continued treatment.

Trump stated earlier in the week, when he was confronted by the journalist at Davos, that he doesn’t consider traumatic brain injuries to be as serious as physical combat wounds he can see — i.e. lost limbs, open gashes, etc. — which enormously downplays the severity of many of the injuries not only sustained in the retaliation attack but sustained by service members everywhere.

“No, I heard that they had headaches and a couple of other things, but I would say, and I can report, it’s not very serious,” Trump stated earlier this week of the brain injuries sustained in the missile strike.

The Pentagon had originally agreed with Trump that no injuries were sustained in the January 8th Iranian missile attack, but it’s important to note that signs and symptoms of traumatic brain injuries often do not present immediately.

Trump just doesn’t want to admit he was wrong. Surprised?
