President Donald Trump slipped up during an interview and admitted that he doesn’t hire “the best people” after all, savagely attacking former Attorney General Jeff Sessions as “not mentally qualified” for the job.
Trump has been taking aim at Sessions all weekend, culminating in a Twitter exchange in which Sessions reminded Trump that he recused himself from the Russia investigation because he was following the law and protecting Trump. Of course, Trump threw a tantrum.
Jeff, you had your chance & you blew it. Recused yourself ON DAY ONE (you never told me of a problem), and ran for the hills. You had no courage, & ruined many lives. The dirty cops, & others, got caught by better & stronger people than you. Hopefully this slime will pay a big… https://t.co/AJPUBTPCnT

And that tantrum continued during the interview.

“Jeff Sessions was a disaster as Attorney General,” Trump said. “He should’ve never been Attorney General, he’s not qualified, he’s not mentally qualified to be Attorney General.”
“Jeff Sessions was a disaster as Attorney General. He should’ve never been Attorney General, he’s not qualified, he’s not mentally qualified to be Attorney General” — wow, what idiot gave Sessions that job in the first place? pic.twitter.com/uNsLhvgpyv

But Trump is the one who hired Sessions as Attorney General in the first place, a fact that Twitter users pointed out while they mocked him.
The number of “unqualified” ppl Trump has hired is amazing. It’s like he doesn’t know what he’s doing 🤷#TrumpIsAnIdiot

Trump views anyone not complicit with his corruption and crimes as “not qualified” to work in his administration.

And the problem here is that the interviewer doesn’t call him out on this nonsense and say “YOU HIRED HIM”

What he meant to say was: “Donald Trump was [is] a disaster as President. He should’ve never been President, he’s not qualified, he’s not mentally qualified to be President.” -The Art of Projection

He was obviously being sarcastic when he gave him the job.

Yet another “I’m the victim” and “I don’t take any responsibility” statement from the fraud-in-chief. #TrumpIsALoser

Now would be a good time for Sessions to step forward and spill the beans on Trump if he has any damning evidence to share. But Sessions has remained remarkably loyal to Trump despite these nasty attacks. It’s too bad Trump is incapable of showing the same courtesy even when a Senate seat is on the line in an election year in which Democrats are poised to flip the chamber.
