As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the popular clothing brand Patagonia blew up recently, trending on Twitter almost overnight — and as it turns out, it was for a deliciously damn good reason.
According to reports, the American outdoor clothing brand rose to Twitter fame for allegedly cutting off a resort that had recently hosted a fundraiser that was headlined by two of the Republican Party’s biggest stooges, GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
WyoFile’s Angus M. Thuermer Jr. reported that the popular clothing company will no longer be supplying a Jackson Hole resort on the heels of the fundraising event, despite the fact that the resort is one of their largest customers:
Patagonia confirmed Tuesday that it would no longer sell to the resort, its largest single customer in the Jackson Hole area. The resort company operates retail stores in Teton Village at the base of the ski area, as well as Hoback Sports and the Jackson Hole Resort Store in nearby Jackson.
The move came after Jay Kemmerer, one of the resort’s owners, co-hosted a fundraiser Aug. 5, 2021, at a posh Jackson hotel for the House Freedom Caucus. U.S. Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia), former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) headlined the event. Admission to the event cost a minimum of $2,000 per couple.
The three have parroted the former president’s false claims of election fraud and been panned by conservation groups for their environmental records. Patagonia and the caucus also diverge on social priorities like voting rights and advocacy for minorities and disadvantaged groups, according to widely reported public positions.”
The story and the clothing company quickly rose to Twitter fame as users rejoiced and spread their praise for the company’s bold move:

I bought this jacket 35 years ago at the #Patagonia store on Newbury Street in Boston. Today I’m going to their Soho store to buy a new one. Way to walk the walk, #Patagonia . https://t.co/59lyF6IfR4

Patagonia donated 1 million dollars to fight voter suppression, then they pulled all their products from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort after the owner held an event starring Marjorie Taylor Greene.
