Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) cited a satirical article published by The Onion to suggest that Democrats are so uncivil that they will burn Washington D.C. to the ground, resulting in social media backlash.
President Donald Trump is the most uncivil person to ever occupy the White House, and he demonstrated that throughout his State of the Union Address on Tuesday night beginning with snubbing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) by refusing to shake her hand.
Yet Republicans have had the audacity to whine about Pelosi ripping up Trump’s SOTU speech, even going so far as to call for her to be jailed.
On Thursday morning, Ted Cruz continued fanning the flames of animosity by citing The Onion to suggest incivility from Democrats will lead to Washington D.C. being set on fire.

Ted Cruz has no right to speak about incivility when he failed to defend his own wife and father after Trump viciously insulted them in 2016. Where was his concern about incivility then?
