People Were Left Horrified By Mike Pence’s “Sickening” Declaration That Americans Are Not Entitled To “Freedom From Religion” In The US Constitution

Clearly, Mike Pence has no idea what the US Constitution actually says.

This week, former Vice President Mike Pence made an appearance on Fox Business, where he declared to the world that the American people do not have a right to “freedom from religion” under the United States Constitution — a claim that ultimately got him dragged through the mud by the very American citizens he was referencing.

To give you a quick refresher, the First Amendment of the US Constitution reads:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

History notes that the Founding Fathers of this country were, in fact, vehemently against any form of centralized government power in the hands of any religion or supreme being or entity, and remained fiercely opposed to forcing individuals to adhere or conform to any religious denomination.

It seems Mike Pence has forgotten why the colonists fled England to America in the first place — to escape religious persecution.

But nevertheless, the former vice president made it clear what sort of future he hopes to force the citizens of this nation to adhere to.

During his Fox appearance, with host Larry Kudlow, the ex-VP offered up his own slanted and sickening interpretation of the founding document of this country, standing in direct violation of what the Founding Fathers, whom the Right so often tries to lean on, spelled out for this nation more than two centuries ago.

“These lefties want to scrap religion, Mike Pence, and I think it’s a terrible mistake,” Kudlow declared during the segment.

“Well, the radical left believes that the freedom of religion is the freedom from religion. But it’s nothing the American founders ever thought of or generations of Americans fought to defend,” Pence said in response.

But it got worse still. So, so much worse.

The former US vice president went on to openly suggest that the United States Supreme Court has an obligation to clearly side with evangelical Christianity and use that religion as a foundation for their legal rulings, in the name of Christian nationalism.

“You know, I said today here in Houston that the source of our nation’s greatness has always been our faith in God, our freedom, and our vast natural resources. And the good news is, that after four years of the Trump-Pence administration, I’m confident that we have a pro-religious freedom majority on the Supreme Court of the United States. And I’m confident that come Election Day, November the 8th, you’re gonna see that freedom majority around the country turn out and vote pro-freedom majorities in the House, and in the Senate, and in statehouses around the country,” Pence openly declared. “So stay tuned, Larry. Help is on the way.”

The very same American citizens who Pence made reference to here absolutely destroyed the corrupt former right-hand man to Donald Trump, dubbing his declaration as “sickening”:

Over our collective dead bodies, Mike Pence.
