Political Observer Claims “McConnell Has Already Given Up On The Idea Of Trump Being Reelected,” And Is Making Plans To Restrict Biden

He needs to be defeated so he can't move forward with his sinister plan.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is already making plans to obstruct a potential Biden administration should Donald Trump be defeated in November, and that’s yet another reason why McConnell needs to lose as well.

Republicans may publicly refuse to acknowledge that Trump is losing badly to Biden in the polls, but they must certainly know in their black hearts that their hopes of keeping the White House and the Senate majority are doomed.

McConnell knows, which is why he is reportedly looking to obstruct Biden the way he obstructed former President Barack Obama, perhaps even worse so.

“He has already given up on the idea of Trump being reelected, and he’s planning for the future,” longtime political observer Paul Waldman wrote in a column for the Washington Post. “McConnell knows what’s happening. He has surely looked around and realized that with the pandemic surging, there is simply no way the economy is going to come roaring back before November” and that “the odds his party will retain control of the Senate are probably 50-50 at best.”

McConnell faces a tough reelection battle against Amy McGrath in Kentucky, but he’s apparently so confident that he will win that he’s making plans to sabotage Biden’s presidency by hurting America more so that Republicans can blame the incoming administration and the Democrats in the years ahead.

“From where he sits, the best outcome now may be to use the next stimulus package to win some minor ideological victories, but not allow it to be substantial enough to set the stage for a genuine recovery,” Waldman wrote. “If and when Biden becomes president in 2021, the situation will be no less dire than it is now — and maybe more so. And the worse things are in the country at that point, the better it is for Republicans. Just as they did when Barack Obama was president, they can blame Democrats for their own mistakes, then force austerity measures that sabotage the economy and slow the recovery.”

Of course, Democrats could just use their majority — should they take back the Senate — and change the Senate rules to render McConnell powerless. Or Biden can just do what Trump has been doing and bypass Congress entirely. Mitch will b*tch, but he only has himself to blame.
