Popular Show Ivanka Trump Appeared In Says She Will Not Have A Place In The Reboot

To be quite honest with you, I’m not sure what Ivanka Trump’s ambitions are now or were in her younger years. Maybe it was just to be rich and famous, maybe it was to take over the world, a la Pinky and the Brain. But one thing I’m pretty certain of is she better hope it’s becoming a world-renowned, beloved, and famous actor; because it seems to me that no one wants her.

Once upon a time, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner made a cameo on the popular TV show Gossip Girl. However, if they were hoping to make a repeat appearance in the show’s newest season, they had better not be holding their breath.

According to a new report from the Daily Mail, the creator of Gossip Girl has made it strikingly crystal clear that the daughter of the former president and her used to be advisor husband will “definitely not” be asked to appear on the popular show again, despite their past guest spots.

Eleven years ago, back before her father destroyed the country for everything it was worth, Ivanka and Jared were rather high on the social totem pole in their home state of New York. So, it wasn’t uncommon for the pair to pop up in a scene of a party that the show’s characters were attending.

But now the show is getting a fresh reboot on HBO Max, set to release on July 8th, and showrunner Joshua Safran was quick to note that Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump no longer have a home on the series.

Safran, who served as a writer and executive producer on the original show, spoke with the Daily Beast and said Javanka would “definitely not! definitely not” be making any appearances on the show’s big reboot. According to Safran, “the world has shifted” in the last 11 years and Trump and Kushner would no longer be accepted at many of the parties and social events that the show’s characters would attend.

Safran notes that it’s not just the couple’s politics that would prevent them from fitting into the new reboot.

“At the time, they were just sorta-celebrities,” he explained of the pair’s original cameo. “Trump was a bad real estate mogul, but I don’t think any of us saw what was coming. I think celebrity has shifted.”

“In 2007, the [Gossip Girl] kids weren’t famous like kids are famous now. Gossip Girl was talking about them, but if they went to a party, Jared and Ivanka were there — it wasn’t that Jared and Ivanka were there to see them,” he added. “The world has shifted a little bit to where if Julien goes to a party, there are celebrities that are going to want to be at that party because Julien is there. This group of kids are more magnets than the first group of kids were inside their worlds.”

Safran was quick to agree with the interviewer that the kids in Gossip Girl’s reboot “wouldn’t be caught dead” hanging around the old-money style places that someone like Ivanka or Jared would spend their time.

” This represents where New York is now,” he explained. “Also, the original Gossip Girl was based on a book series and had closer ties to the Edith Wharton and Henry James side of New York — and we were always talking about that.”

So far, we’re unsure of Ivanka’s thoughts and feelings about the news. But back in the day, it seemed she was quite the dan of the show, telling InStyle at the time, “I never miss an episode of Gossip Girl. I think I’m a cross between Blair Waldorf and Lily van der Woodsen when it comes to the style. I like the uptown city style and a clean-cut, streamlined silhouette.”

Again, Ivanka and Jared were well-known socialites among New Yorkers back before the days of her father’s detrimental presidency that even she is trying to distance from now. But it’s not 2007 anymore and Javanka is a pariah in their home state.

Sounds like she’ll be stuck watching the reboot on HBO just like the rest of us average Joes.
