POTUS Responds To Shepard Smith’s Sudden Resignation In Typical Trump Fashion

Just exactly what we expected.

News just broke earlier today that the only decent human being left at the Fox News Network was suddenly resigning from his position — effective immediately.

Chief news anchor Shepard Smith announced during a live segment that he would be stepping down with this announcement serving as his last appearance on the network.

Smith seemed in relatively good spirits during the segment stating, “Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave FOX News and begin a new chapter. After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged. The opportunities afforded this guy from small-town Mississippi have been many.”

“It’s been an honor and a privilege to report the news each day to our loyal audience in context and with perspective, without fear or favor. I’ve worked with the most talented, dedicated and focused professionals I know and I’m proud to have anchored their work each day—I will deeply miss them.”

Shepard served as one of the very few members of the virtually state-run media outlet that was willing to publicly criticize the president.

The circumstances surrounding Smith’s sudden departure were more than a little suspicious, as well — given that no one at the network seemed to be aware beforehand, Shep was escorted off the property by security personnel, and Trump’s Attorney General Bill Barr held a mysterious meeting with the network’s CEO not two days before the unexpected resignation.

That led many to suspect that Smith was ultimately run out of the network due to a scheme between Trump, his AG, and Murdoch.

We all knew that it was only a matter of time before Donald Trump had something unsavory to say about today’s events.

When confronted over the matter by reporters before departing for tonight’s rally, Donald gave a truly Trumpian reply — attempting to pull the clueless card, acting as though he didn’t even know Smith has resigned, and falling back on some petty sarcasm.

“No. I don’t know. Is he leaving?” Trump replied before sarcastically adding, “Oh, that’s a shame.”

“Wait, did I hear that Shepard Smith is leaving?” he asked. “Is he leaving because of bad ratings?”

“No, tell me. I don’t know,” he continued to rant as if he was completely unaware. “He had terrible ratings. Is he leaving because of his rating?”

“I mean, if he’s leaving I assume he’s leaving because he had bad ratings,” Trump stated again, refusing to let it go. “He had the worst ratings on Fox so there’s a reason… Why is Shepard Smith leaving?”

“Well I wish him well,” Trump finally ended.

Chances are he’s leaving because your bully of an AG tried to swoop in and clean house, likely attempting to force everyone in the network to say nice things about you and Shep gave him a big ol’ “fuck you.”

But sure, Donnie. Keep telling yourself whatever you need to hear.
