He should NEVER get another briefing.

To say that Donald Trump really screwed things up with this Capitol insurrection that was enacted by his rapid supporters at his spurring would be the understatement of the century. I mean, for God’s sake, the guy is facing down an unprecedented second impeachment and he only did one term as president.

But in the wake of the violent January 6th attack, it seems as though the Biden White House is looking to make some more permanent changes in an effort to prevent Donald Trump from bringing down anymore destruction and mayhem on this nation.

During a recent briefing, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki revealed that the Biden administration is debating on whether or not they will revoke Donald Trump’s access to intelligence briefings as a former president in the wake of his supporters’ attack against the nation’s Capitol last month.

“It’s something, obviously, that’s under review,” Psaki answered when a reporter asked whether Trump would still have access to classified intelligence reports as has been customary for past former POTUS’.

Psaki did note that “no determinations” had been made at the time the question was posed.

It’s always been customary for former presidents of this country to receive access to intelligence briefings, but Democrats have a very valid concern that Donald Trump may abuse the privilege and attempt to use the sensitive information for his own personal gain.

Those of us on this side of the political fence aren’t the only ones to have these concerns. Adding her voice to the group of people expressing their concerns over Trump’s access to these briefings is Susan Gordon who formerly served as Donald’s principal deputy director of national intelligence.

In an editorial with the Washington Post, Gordon expanded on her position, stating that Trump “has significant business entanglements that involve foreign entities” and noted that continued access to intelligence briefings would ultimately result in a “has significant business entanglements that involve foreign entities.”

Former FBI Director James Comey also weighed in on the situation during a segment with ABC News, stating that the director of national intelligence, Avril Haines, “will have to take a very hard look at whether Donald Trump should be given information, including any information that might be sensitive to the security of the United States.”

Rep. Adam Schiff, who spearheaded the first impeachment of Donald Trump, expressed his opposition of the tradition as well on CBS’s Face the Nation. “There’s no circumstance in which [Trump] should get another intelligence briefing,” Schiff stated. “I don’t think he can be trusted with it now, and in the future.”

While the concept of Donald Trump having access to these briefings is horrifying and must be stopped at all costs, it may not actually be all that difficult to keep him away from them, considering multiple reports throughout his presidency indicated that Trump rarely ever read the intelligence briefings even when it was quite literally his job to do so.
