For all the “winning” he was supposed to do, Donald Trump just can’t seem to stop losing these days.
The last couple of weeks or so have been a whirlwind of scandal, trouble, and loss for the one-term, twice-impeached former president. He’s been busted for his ridiculous and likely illegal misuse and mistreatment of official White House documents in so many ways we can barely keep up with them now, he was dumped by his company’s longtime accounting firm on Valentine’s Day no less and rounded off his already bad start to the week with DC Attorney General Karl Racine’s bombshell announcement that the Trump Organization is now included in his investigation into Trump’s inauguration and the case is set to go to trial, meaning his kids are likely about to go down with the sinking ship.
Just when I’m sure he thought things couldn’t possibly get much worse for him… They sure did.
In a brutal move by Donald’s successor, President Joe Biden has once again rejected yet another of his predecessor’s claims of executive privilege and ultimately ordered that former President Trump’s White House visitor logs are to be turned over to the House Select Committee that is currently investigating the January 6th Capitol riot, and Trump’s potential hand in it.

According to a recent report from ABC News, the publication obtained and reported on a letter sent to the National Archives from Chief White House Counsel Dana Remus, reading:
The President has determined that an assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified, as to these records and portions of records.”
Remus goes on to note that the visitor logs in question “are entries in visitor logs showing appointment information for individuals who were processed to enter the White House complex, including on January 6, 2021.”
The Biden White House counsel states that Biden’s administration regularly releases visitor logs, just like the Obama administration did, therefore, the notion of “preserving the confidentiality” of the Trump logs ” is not necessary to protect long-term institutional interests of the Executive Branch.”
In addition to the White House visitor logs, President Biden has already ordered the National Archives to turn over significant batches of other documents hailing from Trump’s presidential term. In her letter regarding the visitor logs, Remus quotes the president’s previous justification of his decision: “Congress has a compelling need in service of its legislative functions to understand the circumstances that led to . . . the most serious attack on the operations of the Federal Government since the Civil War. . . . Constitutional protections of executive privilege should not be used to shield, from Congress or the public, information that reflects a clear and apparent effort to subvert the Constitution itself.”
Trump has already lost the battle against previous batches of documents being released to the House panel by the National Archives.
It’s just not been a week of winning for the guy.
