In case you haven’t heard yet, Republican Representative Matt Gatez is out here threatening us with a good time again.

According to a new report from Axios, the GOP Rep. is apparently eyeing an early departure from Congress to jump-start a new career in the Conservative media.

Three sources with direct knowledge of Gaetz’s thoughts and talks on the matter told the news publication that the Republican Congressman has privately told some of his closest confidants that he’s considering not running for Congress again, and even floating the idea of leaving the House early to take a job at the ultra-Right news network, Newsmax.

Gaetz has made a name for himself as a prominent right-wing, Trump-sympathizing figure, earning an infamous reputation as a staunch defender of the ex-President.

The seat that Gaetz could potentially be giving up is a rather potent political district in the Florida panhandle.

According to the report, the GOP Congressman has expressed some interest in becoming a prominent media personality and has even allegedly spoken with Newsmax about what a position with their network might look like.

As I’m sure you recall, many Republicans turned to the Newsmax network after their once-beloved Fox News Network called the state of Arizona in Joe Biden’s favor early on in the 2020 presidential election. Now many Conservatives have apparently decided that Fox News simply isn’t Conservative enough for them, and Newsmax has seemingly turned into the most favored alternative. One America News Network (OANN) has also seemed to benefit from the break from Fox News.

Axios reports: “For the record: Gaetz and his spokesman did not immediately respond to several requests for comment.”
