You can't run from this forever, sweetie.

The House Select Committee is calling, but Ivanka isn’t picking up.

Almost three full weeks ago now, the House Select Committee — that is currently neck-deep in their investigation into the January 6th Capitol riot, as well as the events leading up to it, her father’s role in igniting it, and his alleged refusal to diffuse it in a timely manner — penned a letter to Trump’s eldest daughter and former White House advisor. The document was an uncharacteristic 11-pages long, full of far more detail than they’ve included in similar letters to other Trump officials and insiders. But the gist of it was the same — the panel requested that Ivanka Trump voluntarily appear before the House panel and deliver a testimony regarding her knowledge of the events that took place on that fateful day, as well as the days surrounding it. The committee even went so far as to suggest two different dates for Ivanka to appear of her own volition, February 3 or 4.

Here it is, the 7th of February, and Ivanka Trump not only did not show for either one of the suggested dates, she has yet to schedule any other dates to appear before the House panel, per their request.

The House Select Committee seemed to know what they were doing when they sent the invitation to Trump’s eldest and most-favored daughter on the 20th of January — exactly one year to the date of her father’s final day in power when he left the White House in a cloud of shame and scandal. Thus far, Ivanka has only responded by asserting that she called for an end to the violence on that infamous day, seemingly to conveniently omit the part where she called the Capitol rioters “American patriots” in the very same January 6th statement she’s referring to here.

According to a new report from the Associated Press, the committee is looking for info from Ivanka regarding her knowledge on the January 6th Capitol riot, as she was reportedly inside the White House with her father as the violent attack went down in real-time (while her father allegedly watched with elation and wondered why his aides and staff weren’t sharing in his excitement.) The panel also notes that Ivanka “joined brother Donald Trump Jr., Rudy Giuliani and Kimberly Guilfoyle under a large tent at the rally to listen to Trump’s speech” just before her father’s supporters stormed the Capitol building.

“A committee aide said they are hopeful that she will soon commit to a time to meet,” the AP writes, confirming that Ivanka has not yet truly responded to the request nor scheduled a time and date to appear before the committee.

Just how long does she think she can run from this thing?
