Report Claims Mitch McConnell Went To Great Lengths To Prevent Biden From Calling Trump After Election Because He Feared It Would Send Ex-President Into A Fury

Legendary journalist Bob Woodward and veteran Washington Post reporter Robert Costa interviewed more than 200 firsthand participants and witnesses for their forthcoming book ‘Peril,’ and some of the excerpts are jaw-dropping.

According to an excerpt obtained by the Washington Post from the book slated to be released next week, just after the 2020 election, then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was so concerned about how President Donald Trump would react to a phone call from President-elect Joe Biden, due to his fragile ego, that he worked reached out to a couple of Senators, one that is close to Biden, to be sure it didn’t happen.

“Trump’s fragile ego drove many decisions by the nation’s leaders, from lawmakers to the vice president, according to the book,” the outlet reports. “Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was so worried that a call from President-elect Biden would send Trump into a fury that the then-Majority Leader used a backchannel to fend off Biden. He asked Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, formerly the No. 2 Senate Republican, to ask Sen. Christopher A. Coons, the Democrat of Delaware and close Biden ally, to tell Biden not to call him.”

The twice-impeached one-term president has continued to regurgitate his big lie of widespread voter fraud that didn’t take place. And that, of course, led to the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection. After the election, Trump was acting like such a lunatic that Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley took top-secret action to prevent Trump from launching nuclear weapons. And yet, with all of this known, and truly Trump’s mental illness has been apparent for quite a while now, Republicans still hitched their wagon to an anchor that’s already lying on the bottom of the sea.

Remarkably, Trump is considered the GOP 2024 frontrunner even after he incited the deadly attack at the U.S. Capitol. After McConnell gave a fiery speech to call out Trump after the attack, the former president has been trashing the Senate Minority Leader ever since. Trump likes to play the strongman, but he’s weak and needs to be constantly coddled to soothe his fragile ego.

Was the crisis in Afghanistan surrounding the pull out of American Troops Biden's fault or Trump's fault?
