Report Claims Nation’s Governors May Be Planning To Revolt Against Trump If He Tries To Open The Country Against Expert Recommendations

It looks like local governments are going to have to take matters in their own hands.

It’s impossible to ignore the fact that the coronavirus outbreak in the United States has gone from bad to worse quickly — with the country now sitting at the top spot in the world regarding confirmed cases, something we never wanted to be number one at. Or, at least, it’s impossible for everyone but Donald Trump to ignore, anyway.

As the number of infected individuals in this nation continues to rise at an alarming rate, our president has seemingly taken to the tactic he most likes to employ when the proverbial shit is hitting the fan — just act as though it doesn’t exist.

It’s no secret that it took Trump ages to react to the virus outbreak in any way that was even remotely acceptable — and even then it was frankly far too late, which is what led us to such a massive outbreak in the first place. Now he’s made it strikingly clear that he wants his “solution” to be on its way out the door far quicker than it came, recently declaring that he intends to open the country back up for business as usual by Easter, even going so far as to claim he wanted to see churches packed on the religious holiday.

Of course, these declarations from the president are all in spite of numerous warnings from the CDC, the WHO, and dozens of various other health and medical professionals saying that Trump’s plan is pretty much the worst idea in the history of ever.

Now, according to a new report from Politico, it seems that government officials on a more local level are looking at rebelling against Trump’s blatantly irresponsible plans in an effort to try to save their people.

Politico reports that several governors across the nation are partnering up to form a bipartisan alliance in resistance to Trump’s plan to reopen the country against expert advice for no other reason than his personal gain.

Many state governors, including Minnesota’s Tim Walz, as well as executives from North Dakota, Wisconsin, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, have all been working together to ensure that their states are in sync on the necessary social distancing rules.

“We will combat this virus by working together and remaining consistent across our borders,” Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont stated.

The report goes on to indicate the resistance against Trump and his careless plans are crossing party lines, with Trump ally Mike Parson, Governor of Missouri, even stating, “I hope the president is right but the reality is we are planning this for much longer than two weeks.”

It’s a commendable effort by local governments and one that needs to happen, given that this nation clearly can’t trust our current federal leadership to steer us in the safest direction. However, it’s important to note that the states forming the resistance against the president should be prepared for some serious blowback coming out of the White House.

Just yesterday, Michigan’s governor Gretchen Whitmer revealed that vendors have been “told” not to send supplies to her state after Trump publicly attacked her during a segment with Fox News.

It’s clear at this point that all we can do as Americans is hope that our local government will follow through in protecting us. Because the only person Donald Trump is interested in protecting is himself.
