The corruption runs deep, folks.

As we grapple with the daily corruption and deceit that is Donald Trump, yet another bombshell report has dropped reminding us that Donald himself is just the pus-filled, inflamed head of the deep, disgusting, corruption filled boil that is now the United States government — just exactly how he always intended it to be, as he started stacking the government with his hand-picked cronies the moment he unpacked his golf clubs at the White House.

According to emails recently obtained by McClatchy, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s wife requested that top State Department officials stay and work the week of Christmas, not for any official, important government business, but to finish the Pompeo’s personal holiday cards.

McClatchy reports that longtime aide and State Department employee Toni Porter received an email from Susan Pompeo on her personal account, asking for help getting the holiday cards finished.

“I see that you are out of the office all next week,” the Dec. 19, 2019 email from Susan Pompeo to Toni Porter reads, according to McClatchy. “Do you know, is Joe also out? I’m wondering if we are sending the last of our personal cards out, who will be there to help me. Mike will not want to go outside you and Joe for this assistance.”

The report claims that Porter, a close adviser to Pompeo, ultimately forwarded the personal email from Susan to another official with the State Department who volunteered to help with the holiday cards, however, he added this warning to Susan: “I’d worry about asking others for personal things.”

The emails are hitting the public as the House Foreign Affairs Committee continues their months-long investigation into the circumstances surrounding the abrupt firing of Inspector General Steve Linick by the State Department — a move that Democrats believe was politically motivated as an act of retaliation as the watchdog was conducting at least two investigations into Mike Pompeo’s conduct.

Both Pompeo and Donald Trump have unsurprisingly asserted that they’ve done nothing wrong.

This past Friday, released testimony from the House committee’s pride revealed that Porter was “uncomfortable” with the request made by Pompeo’s wife regarding personal holiday cards.

The State Department released a follow-up statement to McClatchy, responding to the reports, saying, “It is not a revelation that Mrs. Pompeo, like all the spouses of our dedicated diplomats, is a tremendous force multiplier for our diplomatic mission. We are beyond proud and honored to have Mrs. Pompeo, and all diplomatic spouses, give so much time, voluntarily, to ensure we here at State are One Team with One Mission. All her service is not only legal, but admirable.”

Don’t think for a second, folks, that the corruption begins and ends with Donald Trump. This vein runs deep.
