Report Claims Some Of Trump’s Aides Want Him To Address The Nation Over Protests, But POTUS’ Son-In-Law Says No

Much like everything else Donald Trump touches in his life, our current president has done nothing but take any already terrible situation and make it that much worse in response to the protests and riots currently taking place all across this nation.

As cities all across the country burn to the ground and will continue to burn until actual justice is served not only for George Floyd but for the countless deaths just like his to come before, the “leader” of this nation has done nothing but take to his trusty Twitter account to incite even more violence.

Trump has launched numerous vicious attacks against local Democratic leaders and protesters and even gone so far as to encourage and even threaten the murder of demonstrators. Not to mention, he’s gone the “extra mile” by selectively labeling ANTIFA as a terrorist organization.

Some of his posts have been so bad, in fact, that Twitter actually hid the contents of the post for violating their rule against glorifying violence.

So, it comes as no real surprised that the rest of the White House can’t really decide if the guy should address the nation from a more official platform, the Oval Office, regarding the protests and riots.

According to a new report from The Week, one of Trump’s closest confidants, his son-in-law Jared Kushner, is wholly against the idea of his father-in-law addressing the issues in a more formal capacity. But don’t you worry, Kushner hasn’t had a change of morality. His reasoning behind it is just as God-awful as you’d expect from this crowd.

Apparently, Kushner’s not on board with the idea simply because he doesn’t see any “political value” in it.

From The Week:

Some of his advisers, reportedly including his son-in-law Jared Kushner, don’t think there’s any political benefit in Trump addressing the nation from the Oval Office since the few times he’s done so haven’t turned out so great. But others, like White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, believe it’s a chance for Trump to show that he’s a strong leader and a unifier, in a similar fashion to former President George H.W. Bush during the 1992 Rodney King riots in Los Angeles.”

Here’s the thing — I’d be all for Trump addressing the nation if I thought for a hot second that he’d even attempt to put an end to the police brutality that’s taking place. However, we all know that’s about as likely as a snowball surviving in Hell.

So, regardless of Kushner’s shitty motives, I have to agree with him on this one.

Just keep your mouth shut, Donald.
