Wall Street Journal veteran Michael Bender’s forthcoming book, ‘Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost’ has already given us a glimpse into what was going on in the Trump administration. The Daily Mail has obtained some more details on the book, and it highlights the toxic relationship between former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
According to the report, Kushner and Conway were engaged in what was described as a years-long “blood feud” for most of Trump’s one term in office. Kushner threw Conway in the category of “overconfident idiots” that worked for his father-in-law. Meanwhile, Kellyanne Conway tried to throw Kushner under the bus during the height of last summer’s George Floyd protests that swept across the country, according to Bender’s book, the outlet reports.
“They’re fighting over who loves me the most,” Trump had told Bender in 2017 when he was asked about his team’s infighting.
The author detailed the toxicity of the relationship between the two, saying that it was so bad that Kushner had started to dislike Conway during the 2016 campaign and told colleagues that he would have fired her if the race lasted two more weeks.

Then things changed for Kushner as it looked like Kellyanne was heading to the White House. So, that’s when Trump’s son-in-law started laying the groundwork to box her out if the now-former president suddenly decided to put her in charge.
According to the Daily Mail, Kushner described his role as protecting Trump from what he described as “overconfident idiots,” and he referred to her as one of Trump’s “enablers.”
Bender writes that Kushner was concerned that Trump’s management style left him vulnerable to “brash promoters like Kellyanne.”
For her part, Conway found ways to undermine Kushner, especially at critical moments, according to the outlet.
Ivanka and Jared Kushner have reportedly distanced themselves lately from Trump as he continues to spew his election lies. According to a report, Trump feels “used” by Kushner after his son-in-law secured a seven-figure book deal. Meanwhile, Kellyanne has a new job as a campaign manager for a candidate she described as “just like President Trump.” And while Kellyanne worked as a paid liar for the Trump administration, Kushner had zero political experience, so he had no business trying to “bring peace to the Middle East” or whatever it was he was trying to do as he meddled in world affairs. They were just two idiots doing idiotic things for an amateurish president.
