While Donald Trump likes to play the strongman in public, the president is a fragile individual in private, especially following his defeat to Joe Biden in both the popular and electoral vote. And with January 6th approaching, the president has been attempting a coup to cling to power. Even Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell has accepted that Joe Biden is the president-elect, which means Trump’s grip on the Republican party is lessening. One really only needs to glimpse through Trump’s erratic tweets to see that he is in panic-mode.

The Daily Beast reports that sources say the president is unhappy that Republicans aren’t listening to him on several issues and that he fears his influence with the GOP is waning.

“Why aren’t they just listening [to me]?” one of the sources recalled Trump asking during a diatribe against prominent GOPers who the president felt weren’t fighting for him on his current battle lines: from nullifying the 2020 election outcome to torpedoing liability law for Big Tech, to sending out $2,000 checks for COVID-19 relief.

The outlet reports that the sources that heard his remarks said that Trump is close to accepting that his time in the White House is coming to an end — but he thinks he was robbed. Trump is “insistent that he was robbed of a re-election victory,” and “he has privately groused that too many in his party are acknowledging the reality of his actual loss and showing signs of tiptoeing away from him.”

And, apparently, Trump seeks retaliation against Republicans that he thinks were disloyal to him.

“He is keeping a running [mental] list of Republicans who he believes have wronged him since the election,” a source close to the president told the news outlet. “The president certainly wants it out there that he’s capable of holding a grudge and that he has campaigned against [some] Republicans before and could do it again.”

Well, the GOP nominated the raging narcissist and put him into power, so good luck, guys. As for that list Trump is keeping, that only highlights the outgoing president’s pettiness. However, Trump’s enablers deserve everything that’s coming to them for putting that abusive asshole in the White House.
