Reporter Claims Trump’s Medical Adviser Was So Off That Even Kayleigh McEnany Warned Staff Not To Quote Him

Just when you think Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Bender’s new book, Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Losthas dropped all the bombshells it possibly could, along comes another. And somehow, each and every one seems to get worse and worse.

According to yet another revelation from the tell-all book, multiple troubling things were happening behind the scenes in the Trump administration’s terrible response to the COVID-19 pandemic — including a Trump-tapped medical advisor that was so ridiculous, Donald’s own press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, was forced to tell staff not to quote him.

The book tells of a heated exchange between Dr. Debrah Birx and senior Donald Trump adviser Scott Atlas when Birx told Atlas that he was quite literally killing Americans with his misinformation.

Apparently, this all began after Trump decided that he really liked what Atlas was saying on Fox News. The former president eventually hired him despite the dangerous fringe theories he was peddling all over TV because, unlike Birx and Fauci, Atlas would tell Trump whatever he wanted to hear, whenever he wanted to hear it, facts be damned.

“This guy’s an expert!” Bender’s book quotes ex-president Trump saying at the time.

“Atlas’s controversial theories and aggressive behavior quickly became one of the few things that could unite Trump World,” Bender writes. “Fauci complained to colleagues that Atlas was a ‘total nutcase.'”

The book goes on to note that White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany was eventually forced to tell her communications staff to avoid quoting Trump’s new favorite doctor.

“I’m worried he’s a little fast and loose with the facts,” Bender claims McEnany told her team.

Bender goes on to note that Atlas seemed to hold a particular grudge against Dr. Birx as he “attacked her suggestions on social distancing guidelines in emails he would blast across the administration, and shouted at her in private meetings.”

His book details one meeting during which Birx expressed her concerns over the Labor Day holiday and an increase in COVID-19 cases come Fall.

“You just want to shut down the country!” Atlas allegedly screamed at Birx. “I speak for the president, and we are not shutting down the country!”

“That’s fine, but just know that you are killing people,” Birx responded, resulting in a stunned silence falling over the room.

“Well,” Jared Kushner allegedly stated, “It’s good to have a robust debate.”

The Wall Street Journal author recently appeared on MSNBC where host Nicole Wallace read excerpts of his book:
