Karen Pence appeared on Fox News on Thursday and attempted to explain why her husband failed to wear a required face mask during his visit this week to the Mayo Clinic to discuss a partnership with the Mayo Clinic, the state, and the University of Minnesota to increase testing. The Vice President garnered a firestorm of attention after photos and video of the meeting showed everyone around Pence wearing a face mask. At the same time, he declined to do so amid the pandemic that has taken an exhausting toll on Americans.

Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt asked his Karen Pence to explain why her hubby refused to wear the protective mask.

“Wearing a mask prevents you from spreading the disease, and knowing that he doesn’t have Covid-19, he didn’t wear one,” Mrs. Pence said. “It was actually after he left Mayo that he found out they had a policy of asking everyone to wear a mask.”

OK, well first off, “He didn’t know nothin'” isn’t a good excuse for the Vice President of the United States. Also, we have the receipts, Karen. The Mayo Clinic may have deleted the tweet confirming that Pence was informed of the masking policy beforehand, but screen captures were taken.

White House correspondent Steve Herman fact-checked Karen on Twitter.

“All of us who traveled with him were notified by the office of @VP the day before the trip that wearing of masks was required by the @MayoClinic and to prepare accordingly.”

So, it appears that Pence’s own office told those that were traveling with the VP that it was a requirement to wear the face masks, but somehow, Mike Pence didn’t know.

Karen Pence is the reason people have been telling Karen jokes.
