A spokesperson for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) denied a reporter’s claim that the congressman was caught talking about an imminent 2024 announcement from former President Donald Trump. Still, the reporter for the political web show The Undercurrent, Lauren Windsor, has the receipts. And Jordan’s office should have known better; after all, Windsor always seems to have proof of her claims, and it’s usually on video. For example, earlier this week, Windsor caught Sen Ron Johnson on video blaming the twice-impeached one-term president for losing Wisconsin in 2020, and he told her, “there’s nothing obviously skewed about the results.”

On Thursday, Windsor tweeted, “Jim Jordan told me tonight in Iowa that Trump will announce he’s running “any day now.” A big GOP operative in the state later announced to the crowd that Trump will travel here imminently.”

Jordan’s office denied the claim.

Then, Windsor promised to back up her claim with a video.

Windsor released a video clip on Friday of the Ohio Republican saying, “President Trump, he’s gonna run again — I know so, I talked to him yesterday, he’s about ready to announce after all of this craziness in Afghanistan.”

Watch:

As for the “craziness in Afghanistan,” the former president set the table for that, and Trump wanted to withdraw our troops sooner, which would have been more chaotic. We’ve never witnessed a former president that hopes his successor will fail before. Still, here we are with Trump unleashing daily statements and giving interviews to blast Biden while falsely claiming that the election was stolen from him.
