Back last month, Donald Trump was rather eager to hear some testimony from United States Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, tweeting out, “I would love to send Ambassador Sondland, a really good man and great American, to testify, but unfortunately he would be testifying before a totally compromised kangaroo court, where Republican’s rights have been taken away, and true facts are not allowed out for the public…”

….to see. Importantly, Ambassador Sondland’s tweet, which few report, stated, “I believe you are incorrect about President Trump’s intentions. The President has been crystal clear: no quid pro quo’s of any kind.” That says it ALL!

However, I’m willing to bet dollars to donuts that Donnie is whistling a very different tune today as Ambassador Sondland delivers what can only be described as a downright damning testimony to the House Intelligence Committee as we speak — and thanks to Trump’s very own Republican party, it’s for all of America to see, as well.
If you’ve been following today’s hearing at all, you know that Sondland’s accounts of what happened aren’t, like essentially all of the other testimonies to come before his, doing Trump any favors when it comes to proving his alleged innocence.
And one prominent Republican attorney seems to believe that this could be the turning point needed for GOP Senators to finally push Donald to step down and resign.
“The real issue is the senators are watching,” Fox News contributor Ken Starr stated today in regard to Sondland’s public testimony. “Are senators going to now say in light of what we hear today, it’s going to be a long day even with the ambassador alone, in light of what we have heard, ‘We need to make a trip down to the White House’?”
“That historic example set during the Nixon presidency,” the GOP lawyer continued. “From what I’ve been able to glean I don’t think that’s going to happen. But obviously what happens today could—has the potential to be a game-changer.”
With each and every one of these testimonies, it’s becoming more and more clear that Donald Trump truly has no way out. He did precisely what he’s being accused of and his team of GOP jockeys is quickly running out of ways to defend him without looking 100 percent insane.
We can only hope that Starr is correct in his prediction that this will finally serve as the turning point for the GOP and they will call on Trump to get the hell out before he burns the whole place to the ground.
