Republican Lawmaker Called The Cops Because Someone Wrote A Pro-Choice Message To Her On The Sidewalk Outside Her House… In Chalk

Who's the snowflakes???

The preferred nickname for our “side” over the years, namely since the era of Donald Trump took over the Republican party in this nation, has long been “snowflakes.” They make fun of us for being “fragile” and “weak,” for needing a “safe space” and for getting offended too easily. They deride us for being tolerant and accepting and inclusive. To them, we’re nothing more than puny, feeble little snowflakes with no power compared to their big ole snow plows.

But let me tell you something — I have never, in my almost 30 years on the face of this Earth, known a liberal to call the police on someone… For using sidewalk chalk.

A new report from Business Insider today has our eyeballs collectively twitching, as it reveals that Maine’s Republican Senator Susan Collins — who is actually one of just two Republicans left in the Senate who actually (allegedly, anyway) support a woman’s right to choose — called the cops over the weekend because a pro-choice message was written to her specifically on the sidewalk outside of her Bangor, Maine home. Now, the fact that she literally called the police over a sidewalk message is ridiculous enough in its own right. But to take a nonsense situation and make it that much more laughable, the message was written on the sidewalk outside of her home IN CHALK.

Local publication Bangor Daily News reported that officers responded to a call from the GOP lawmaker at 9:20 pm on Saturday night after Collins reportedly discovered this message written on the sidewalk just outside her home in sidewalk chalk: “Susie, please, Mainers want WHPA —–> vote yes, clean up your mess.” The message was written on a public sidewalk on West Broadway Street.

“WHPA” refers to the Women’s Health Protection Act — a bill that would serve to officially codify the landmark Roe V. Wade decision that allowed women the right to choose to have an abortion, ultimately making it a federally protected law should the bill pass.

Senate Democrats have reportedly teed up a vote on the bill that is now more crucial than ever, set for Wednesday, in the wake of the disturbing recent Supreme Court leak, after it passed through the House back in September.

Spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department, Wade Betters, told the publication “The message was not overtly threatening” and confirmed that by Monday afternoon, it was no longer even visible on the sidewalk.

Collins also spoke with the local publication and said, “We are grateful to the Bangor police officers and the City public works employee who responded to the defacement of public property in front of our home.”

Despite claiming to be pro-choice, Collins has publicly confirmed her opposition to the Women’s Health Protection Act because she claims it does not offer protections to providers who do not want to perform abortions. She has confirmed that she will be voting “no” against the legislation, where it will likely die in the Senate, as Democrat Joe Manchin has also confirmed that he will vote against the bill.

Collins personally voted in favor of confirming Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court — three out of five of the conservative justices who voted in favor of the opinion draft that would serve to set women and child-bearing human beings back by decades in the United States.

But remind me again how we are the snowflakes…
