Rudy Giuliani Explained Why It’s Okay To Impeach Joe Biden But Apparently Not Donald Trump And It’s Even Crazier Than We Expected

That doesn't make any sense.

Embattled former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani appeared on Real America’s Voice with host Steve Bannon. The topic of impeachment came up, and that’s when the hypocrisy meter started blaring. Apparently, when articles of impeachment were filed against the former president, Giuliani called it “weaponizing” the process, but with President Joe Biden, it’s different.

And frankly, I’m of the notion that Trump should have been impeached over his bungled response to the COVID-19 pandemic as he held super-spreader events and danced to YMCA while Americans were dying. Republicans are on a revenge tour, though, so they want to impeach Biden for doing exactly what Trump planned to do by bringing U.S. troops home from Afghanistan.

“You’re saying he aided and abetted our enemies, and you’re saying it’s at least worthy of an investigation,” Bannon said to Giuliani. “I remember we would have you on [the show] many times, and you warned the American people about the politicization and weaponization of the impeachment process.”

“You warned us about weaponizing the impeachment process for things just like this,” Bannon added. “How would you weigh and measure that, your warning about the weaponization and over-politicization of it versus your charges against Joe Biden?”

Giuliani said that he thinks Democrats “misused” the impeachment process, so Republicans shouldn’t be denied its use with Biden, and I guess he thinks that somehow makes sense. (It does not make sense.)

“I would rather not have an impeachment,” Giuliani said. “However, I think we’re dealing with a situation that just because the Democrats misused it, we can’t be denied the use of it when something is seriously harmful to the United States.”

“I think you have to do it,” Giuliani said of impeaching President Biden. “This is serious enough so that an American president who — maybe he’s doing it because he’s mentally incompetent, but we don’t know that. And then he can defend himself that way.”

Watch:

First of all, Democrats control the House and the Senate, so I’m not sure that filing articles of impeachment against the Democratic President would work out well for them. Also, President Biden hasn’t done anything worthy of impeachment, so there’s that, too. Most Republicans failed to hold Trump accountable for his crimes, so their feigned outrage won’t be taken seriously. Trump’s last impeachment was for inciting the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. That’s kind of a big deal.
