The former attorney for Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, is going through some things as his law license was just suspended in New York for making “false and misleading statements” about the election loss of the twice-impeached one-term president, the New York Times reports. Giuliani has helped to prop up Donald Trump’s big lie of widespread voter fraud that doesn’t exist.
The court ruled that “For the reasons that follow, we conclude that there is uncontroverted evidence that respondent communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large in his capacity as lawyer for former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump campaign in connection with Trump’sfailed effort at reelection in 2020. These false statements were made to improperly bolster respondent’s narrative that due to widespread voter fraud, victory in the 2020 United States presidential election was stolen from his client. We conclude that respondent’s conduct immediately threatens the public interest and warrants interim suspension from the practice of law, pending further proceedings before the Attorney Grievance Committee (sometimes AGC
or Committee).”
“Once the investigation is complete, the Committee may commence a formal proceeding in which the attorney has the right to be heard. If the Committee concludes that the attorney may face public discipline, then, consistent with the objective of ‘protect[ing] the public, maintain[ing] the integrity and honor of the profession, or deter[ing] others from committing similar misconduct,’ the matter is brought before the Appellate Division,” the court added.
Giuliani’s rhetoric, as well as Trump’s, led to the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection. And Giuliani gave everything away for a mentally ill septuagenarian that wears lifts in his shoes to appear taller. I can’t figure out why supporters of the former president continue to ruin their lives for that raging narcissist. The rest of us can see right through Donald J. Trump.
