Several Staunch Trump Allies Say POTUS Has Four To Eight Weeks To Salvage Any Chance At Another Term: “Red Flags Are Going Up”

This is bad, bad news for Donald.

It’s pretty easy to see that Donald Trump isn’t exactly “killing it” when it comes to his response to the deadly coronavirus pandemic that’s now literally reshaped the nation we once knew.

Frankly, he’s made an absolute mess out of the entire thing by letting the dumpster become completely engulfed in flames before even grabbing a fire extinguisher.

As a result of his lacking response, the entire nation is on lockdown in some way or another, millions are out of work, thousands are dying, thousands more are becoming infected every day, and the economy is on a quick swirl down the toilet.

And according to an Axios interview, even Donald’s staunchest allies know that his window of salvation is almost up.

Stephen Moore, a man Trump once allegedly considered for a spot on Federal Reserve stated, “If the administration mishandles its economic recovery efforts, Trump is in big trouble.”

Axios reporter Alayna Treene writes, “Other conservative leaders — including former Congressman and Club for Growth President David McIntosh, a Pence ally who served in the same Indiana district immediately before the Vice President — said they worry that there isn’t enough attention being placed on the longer-term, post-coronavirus economic strategy”

She added that one of the main sources of concern has become Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

McIntosh explained in the interview, “I don’t think [Mnuchin] has yet started thinking about that long-term, how do we incentivize the rapid recovery or the V-shape bounce back? I understand their planning process, to deal with emergency. But now it’s time to start thinking of the exit strategy.”

One Republican strategist who chose to remain anonymous stated, “Red flags are going up. We understand that there is this sort of survival phase, but there’s a concern that Mnuchin is overplaying that and not looking ahead. The emerging consensus is the next phase needs to be about economic growth, not about making government bigger through massive spending and increased regulation that stifles the economic recovery.”

Treene went on to explain, “Trump built his re-election pitch on the idea the U.S. has seen historic prosperity under his leadership — but now the economy is in shambles,” adding that Trump is now looking at putting together a second task force against the pandemic, this one possibly led by his daughter Ivanka, to combat the economic disaster resulting from the outbreak. However, the idea is reportedly not being well received.

“McIntosh poured cold water on the idea of a totally separate task force, warning that a second group would create ‘competing centers for decision making,'” the report notes. “McIntosh recommended that they instead beef up the existing task force led by Pence with outside business advisers, not more government officials, ‘to give them that perspective of what matters in the real-world economy.'”

Trump’s days seem to be officially numbered by some of his staunchest supporters in the wake of his mucked up response to this global disaster. This truly may be the final nail in the coffin of Trump’s pipe dream at a second term.
