Axios reporter Jonathan Swan interviewed Donald Trump, and the clip aired Monday evening on HBO. Swan looked frustrated during the interview as the president was all over the map when he was asked direct questions. The reporter had to repeatedly bring Trump back to the topic as the president tried to change the subject. Swan’s facial expressions and his foot tapping were noted by social media users who took screen captures of the reporter during the eyebrow-raising exchanges. The thirty-eight-minute interview was a textbook example of a malignant narcissist trying to deny his own failures as president. Swan brought the receipts and called out Trump several times — but, he was obviously frustrated.

Swan masterfully brought Trump back on topic, and we’re not sure why the president’s handlers even allowed the interview to take place. The absurd exchanges will make great ads for presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden. At this point, Biden just needs to let Trump keep talking while he sits back eating popcorn and whatnot. Trump is Trump’s worst enemy, and the president doesn’t even know it. We’re not sure why Trump was elevated to the highest seat in the land, but here we are stuck with an unstable individual at the helm amid national crises.
