They should be worried.

The news exploded over several fronts, from Donald Trump’s debate debacle to the New York Times explosive report that showed the president only paid $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017. Trump’s former campaign manager Brad Parscale was taken into custody by the police outside of his Ft. Lauderdale home and hospitalized after threatening to commit suicide. There were bruises on his wife’s arms — police body camera footage circulated on social media that showed an officer tackling Parscale to the ground. And Parscale appeared to be inebriated.

Gabriel Sherman of Vanity Fair gave us some insight as to how those in Trump’s orbit are handling Parscale’s public fall from grace, and it’s not good.

Parscale’s public meltdown happened while he is reportedly under investigation for stealing from the Trump campaign and the RNC. According to the source close to the campaign, the Trump family is worried that Parscale could turn on them and cooperate with law enforcement about possible campaign finance violations. “The family is worried Brad will start talking,” the source said.

Trump campaign’s communications director, Tim Murtaugh, denied the allegations. “It’s utterly false. There is no investigation, no audit, and there never was,” he said.

Parscale, 44, is stepping away from any role in the Trump campaign,  citing that he is under “overwhelming stress.” At the same time, his wife says her apparent allegations of domestic violence were “misconstrued,” according to Politico.

Parscale was demoted as campaign manager in July as the president’s poll numbers cratered following the Tulsa rally. TikTokers pranked the president by ordering tickets to the event while knowing full well they would not attend. Trump bragged about one million RSVPs to the event; then the president sustained a narcissistic injury as he spoke to barely a half-filled venue.

Meanwhile, the police took ten firearms from Parscale’s residence following his hospitalization. Law enforcement is reportedly moving to strip Trump’s former campaign manager of his guns for at least two weeks and possibly up to a year under Florida’s “red flag” law. According to reports, Parscale has allegedly been accused of “stealing” up to $40 million from Trump’s campaign and $10 million from the Republican National Committee. It’s probably a good idea for team Trump to be concerned that Parscale might spill the beans.
