Ted Cruz Got His A*s Handed To Him By TX Newspaper Over His “Performative Tantrum” During Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court Confirmation Hearing

One prominent and highly influential Texas newspaper just set its sights on the state’s Republican senator, Ted Cruz, and proceeded to aim and fire over the Cancun stowaway’s “performative tantrum” he tried to pass off as a line of questioning during the recent confirmation hearings for President Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

In a fiery takedown of their sorry ass excuse for a senator, the Dallas Morning News pointed out what we all know to be true — 99 percent of Cruz’s nasty and immature behavior during Judge Jackson’s hearing was little more than a ridiculous effort on the senator’s part to pop off a good handful of soundbites that could be used for his 15 minutes of fame on Fox News for his widely expected run for the presidency in 2024.

Cruz appeared to spend the entire hearing digging for fodder for campaign commercials, as every time he opened his mouth, something stupid as Hell came out: “What’s a woman? Are babies racist? Why are you so soft on child porn defendants?”

The notable Texas publication opined, “Sen. Ted Cruz’s combative examination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson left little doubt that he had 2024 on his mind.”

Ted’s behavior was so appalling, in fact, that he found himself called out on his painfully obvious grandstanding by two of his fellow senators. But the Dallas Morning News points out that what Democrats see as ridiculous grandstanding is actually exactly what Republicans who are screening for White House contenders are looking for.

“The grilling that Cruz gave Jackson on critical race theory alone — a potent culture-war topic — scored points with the conservative base, though it also drew some of Jackson’s most disdainful glares of the hearings,” the publication wrote.

Republican national committee member in New Hampshire where the first primary is hosted every four years, Chris Ager, said, “He’s doing his job. And the best thing that you can do if you want to achieve a higher office is to do the job you’re currently in very well.”

Political scientist at the University of Iowa, Tim Hagle, said Cruz’s unhinged line of questioning on the topic of Critical Race Theory was little more than a two birds, one stone situation. “The short-term goal is to suggest that a particular nominee is problematic,” he explained, which could serve the purpose of preventing GOPers from giving Jackson the benefit of the doubt.

But even further still, Hagle says Cruz’s behavior deeply resonates with the precise base of people he wants to vote for him if he vies for the White House in a couple of years. “That might be something that Ted Cruz could talk about on the campaign trail,” he explained.

At this point, there’s simply no denying that these Republicans are making asses out of themselves on purpose, simply because that’s what their base has devolved to.
