The Biden DOJ Reportedly Appears Poised To Come After Donald Trump With An Investigation For Packing Multiple Boxes Of Classified, Top-Secret Documents To His Mar-A-Lago Resort

This is about to get interesting.

Americans have steadily criticized Biden Administration Attorney General Merrick Garland for his perceived inaction against the President’s predecessor, former guy Donald Trump — and, to be frank, I can understand where their frustrations are coming from. It seems Trump has committed everything just short of literal murder over the course of the last 6 years or so and yet continually gets away with all of it.

But according to new reporting from the Washington Post, the Biden-era Justice Department may not be nearly as “inactive” as it seemed.

Not long ago, reports broke revealing the bombshell news that ex-President Trump packed up at least 15 very large boxes of classified and top-secret documents from the White House, upon his election eviction from the presidency, and took the documents and records with him to his Florida Mar-a-Lago resort/home. Ultimately, in an effort to comply with subpoenas issued by the January 6th House Select Committee, the National Archives was forced to show up at Trump’s golf club to retrieve the documents and records that the former president had taken.

Now, the Post reports that the Biden Justice Department appears to be poised to possibly be officially and actively investigating Trump’s actions in taking the documents. Some sources familiar with the alleged DOJ probe claim that the DOJ’s investigation is still in its early stages. The possible development comes as a result of revelations from House Oversight chair Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney after she penned a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland with allegations claiming that the DOJ was blocking her committee’s access to the boxes that were retrieved from Trump’s resort. She went so far as to use the word “interfering.”

The Post notes that the Justice Department may be blocking Maloney and her committee from accessing the boxes because they are currently conducting an investigation of their own.

“The Committee does not wish to interfere in any manner with any potential or ongoing investigation by the Department of Justice,” Maloney’s letter reads. “However, the Committee has not received any explanation as to why the Department is preventing NARA from providing information to the Committee that relates to compliance with the [Presidential Records Act], including unclassified information describing the contents of the 15 boxes from Mar-a-Lago.”

Thus far, the FBI has refused to confirm or deny the existence of such an investigation.

This comes among increased calls not just from the American people but from US officials and lawmakers on the DOJ to strengthen their efforts against the former President.

Republican House Rep. and January 6th Committee member Liz Cheney told the Justice Department they should “not apply any doctrine of immunity that might block Congress from fully uncovering and addressing the causes of the January 6th attack.” While Rep. Zoe Lofgren said the House Panel is doing its job, “the Department of Justice needs to do theirs.”
