House Republican Matt Gaetz is expected to be indicted soon as former Florida official Joel Greenberg who is also the Congressman’s friend, is said to have flipped on him over the sex trafficking of a minor, according to what a source told the Daily Mail. The MAGA Congressman told The Hill that he has no plans to resign amid the flurry of scandals the Florida Republican has found himself facing; however, he may want to rethink that now.

The Department of Justice is investigating Gaetz over an alleged inappropriate relationship with a minor and a possible violation of sex trafficking laws. The Republican Rep. is being accused of being involved with and possibly paying the 17-year-old girl to travel with him — making that a sex trafficking violation.

“Greenberg, who was elected Seminole County Tax Collector in 2016, is currently in jail awaiting trial after being slapped with a string of charges last year, including sex trafficking a minor between the age of 14 and 17,” the report states.

And this is where Gaetz comes in after a report revealed that the Florida Republican was under investigation for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old – the same girl Greenberg is accused of sex trafficking.

“The congressman impugned and damaged the reputation of someone who had nothing to do with this,” the source told the outlet. “Rest assured that Greenberg has been singing to the feds about his friend Matt Gaetz. That’s why Matt is so freaked out.”

“Gaetz’s arrest is said to be imminent after the alleged victim, who has not been named, testified before a Florida grand jury this week saying she had sex with the conservative Republican before she turned 18, ” the outlet reports.

“The investigation into Gaetz first spiraled from a probe into Greenberg, who was indicted last summer on 14 felony charges including child sex trafficking, fraud, identity theft and stalking a former political rival,” the report continues.

“Sources told the outlet Greenberg was caught on surveillance footage visiting a tax collection office in Lake Mary, Florida where he was allegedly making fake IDs, with another man – revealed to be Gaetz – over a weekend in April,” the report adds.

Once a rising conservative figure in the MAGA world, Gaetz is seeing his political life come to a screeching halt. Noticeably absent are any Republicans with credibility defending Gaetz. The Florida Congressman has few friends on his side of the aisle. Now, I wouldn’t put much stock into the Daily Mail; however, I’d be more surprised if indictments were not imminent.
