The Lockdown Protestors Who Trump Hailed As “Great People” Can Be Seen Holding Up A “Hang Fauci” Sign

What a bunch of nice people. I'm sure they're fun at parties, too.

TV journalist Kevin Vesey tweeted out the alarming reception he received from anti-lockdown protesters in Long Island, NY, while he was being harassed and abused by Trump supporters while trying to do his job. Trump has given the crowd support for three days in a row on Twitter, even though one sign in the group reads “Hang Fauci” and on Saturday, Trump called them “great people.” On Monday morning, the president tweeted, “This love of Country went all over. They hate Fake News, and so do I!”

The sign read in full: “Hang Fauci Hang Gates, Open Up All Our States.” Apparently, the totally nice guy holding the sign wants to hang philanthropist Bill Gates, too. Gates has been warning about pandemics, and Dr. Anthony Fauci is our nation’s top infectious diseases expert.

Vessey’s initial tweet that captured the president’s sadistic attention read that he was the “level of anger” from the crowd was “alarming.”

Trump called the disturbing crowd “great people.”

Suffolk County, where the protest occurred, has a COVID-19 mortality rate more than four times the national average, with nearly 38,000 cases of COVID-19 and 1,733 deaths as of Saturday, according to the Huffington Post.

The US just hit ninety thousand deaths from COVID-19, and the president is propping up radical right-wing protesters who are calling to execute our country’s top infectious diseases expert who is just trying to keep us alive. The “open the states” pro-Trump Covidiots are willing to sacrifice lives to keep their president in power even while he has blood all over his hands.

This is just Trump’s latest rallying cry to divide this country amid the national crisis that has put more than thirty-six million Americans out of work as they shelter at home to flatten the coronavirus curve. And we’re sorry, Trumpers, if you can’t get a mani-pedi or a haircut right now, but we’re trying to keep you alive, too.
