Three Former Presidents Step Up, Volunteer To Take COVID Vaccine Publicly To Prove It’s Safe

There’s a lot of public distrust with anything the Trump administration takes part in or produces. And with the raging COVID-19 pandemic that has taken nearly two hundred and seventy-five thousand American lives, the United States is left without a leader. The ship doesn’t have a captain. Instead, the president surrendered to the coronavirus without putting up a fight. Donald Trump held super-spreader rallies to largely maskless crowds. And with a madman at the helm suggesting that we should inject disinfectant as some sort of cure, it’s no wonder that Americans are hesitant to take a vaccine while Donald Trump is in charge.

So, to promote public confidence in the vaccine’s safety, former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton are volunteering to get their coronavirus vaccines on camera once the US Food and Drug Administration authorizes one, according to CNN.

Former President George W. Bush reached out to Dr. Anthony Fauci — our nation’s top infectious disease expert — as well as Dr. Deborah Birx.

Freddy Ford, Bush’s chief of staff, told CNN that the 43rd President Fauci and Birx to see how he could help promote the vaccine.

“A few weeks ago, President Bush asked me to let Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx know that, when the time is right, he wants to do what he can to help encourage his fellow citizens to get vaccinated,” Ford told the news outlet. “First, the vaccines need to be deemed safe and administered to the priority populations. Then, President Bush will get in line for his, and will gladly do so on camera.”

On Wednesday, Clinton’s press secretary told CNN  that he would definitely take the vaccine in a public setting to promote it.

“President Clinton will definitely take a vaccine as soon as available to him, based on the priorities determined by public health officials. And he will do it in a public setting if it will help urge all Americans to do the same,” Angel Urena said.

Obama told SiriusXM host Joe Madison that he has confidence in Fauci and would take a vaccine if he says it’s safe.

“People like Anthony Fauci, who I know, and I’ve worked with, I trust completely,” Obama said. “So, if Anthony Fauci tells me this vaccine is safe and can vaccinate, you know, immunize you from getting Covid, absolutely, I’m going to take it.”

“I promise you that when it’s been made for people who are less at risk, I will be taking it,” he said.

“I may end up taking it on TV or having it filmed, just so that people know that I trust this science, and what I don’t trust is getting Covid,” he added.

In 2009, Obama got the swine flu shot publicly.

Unfortunately, as the pandemic rages across the United States, public confidence is at all all-time low. Even wearing protective face masks was made political by Donald Trump, who contracted COVID-19, then after leaving the hospital, he ripped the mask off his face with cameras rolling.
