Trump And Giuliani Attack Presidential Debates, Demand First Debate Be Moved Up, With Rudy Adding That The Commission Should Figure Out How To Become Modern Or Let Congress Take Over

He was bound to start attacking the debates at some point.

Donald Trump and his minion lawyer Rudy Giuliani both attacked the Commission on Presidential Debates by demanding the commission be disbanded unless it agrees to add a debate and move the first debate to an earlier date.

The first presidential debate is scheduled to occur at the end of September because that’s when the election will really intensify as November approaches. But Giuliani claimed on Fox & Friends that the debate should be moved up because of early voting.

“If they don’t do it, it really undermines the rationale for this commission,” Giuliani said. “They really have to go. I mean, what about the right to know?”

“Those people have a right to know,” he continued. “Why are we having these debates? We’re having these debates to inform the electorate. We might as well have them after the election. This is like sticking to a rationale that’s 30 years old that has no application to today, and it undercuts the entire mission of the commission. That usually means, you know, unless they can figure out how to become modern, they should get out of this business and Congress should take over.”

Here’s the video:

Americans who choose to vote early typically have already made up their mind on who they want to vote for and watching a debate won’t change their mind. Anyone who hasn’t made up their mind already has the opportunity to wait for the debates. So, there’s no real justification to move up the debate or add one. This is Giuliani baiting Joe Biden, which Trump did himself after having apparently watched the Fox & Friends interview.

This from a man-baby who has actually skipped Republican primary debates to hold narcissistic rallies instead. Trump also threatened to skip debates against Hillary Clinton and it’s not clear he actually intends to show up to debates against Biden. The truth is that Trump is creating an excuse to skip the first debate. He’ll claim it’s totally unfair because it’s being held in late September instead of a date of his choosing. He’s also baiting Biden. After all, if Biden doesn’t agree to Trump’s demand, Trump will accuse Biden of not wanting to debate him.

The fact is that there’s only one candidate in this race who has devoted their life to public service. That’s NOT Trump. Trump has only ever served himself, and he’s still doing it by attacking the integrity of the debates.
