Narcissistic rage-machine Donald Trump can’t handle even the slightest bit of criticism, and has directed his ire largely at CNN, and most assuredly at White House correspondent Jim Acosta. Buried in an article by The New Yorker, Trump, a conspiracy theorist, was reluctant to choose Alexander Acosta as his Secretary of Labor because the former reality show star was worried that he was related to the CNN reporter Jim Acosta, so he told his staff, “Do me a favor—go back and check the family tree.”
That was Trump’s main concern — and not the way Alexander Acosta handled a sex crimes case against wealthy investor Jeffrey Epstein a decade ago when Acosta was U.S. attorney for southern Florida. Acosta struck a now-infamous secret plea deal with Epstein that basically allowed him to get a slap on the wrist as punishment for his crimes against underaged girls. When all of this was revealed, Acosta was forced to resign in disgrace.
Trump, of course, seemed to sympathize with Acosta while blaming the press.
Alex Acosta informed me this morning that he felt the constant drumbeat of press about a prosecution which took place under his watch more than 12 years ago was bad for the Administration, which he so strongly believes in, and he graciously tendered his resignation….

Apparently, Acosta’s leniency with Epstein didn’t faze Trump, but he draws the line at any possible family relationship with a CNN reporter. Epstein and Trump were pals for quite a while, by the way.
It was reported today that CNN anchors are to be excluded from dining with the president at the White House in advance of his State of the Union address. No other networks were forbidden to attend. It’s customary for presidents to invite anchors from all the major networks to dine with him in advance of his State of the Union address, but Trump has a hard-on for CNN. “This is the first time in recent memory that a president has singled out one network and opted to not invite any anchors from there,” CNN reports.
Trump has a thing about names.
The Republican National Committee chairwoman, niece of Mitt Romney, Ronna Romney McDaniel, dropped the “Romney” from her name at Trump’s request, the Washington Post reported at the time. That’s kind of interesting since Mitt Romney is now on Trump’s enemies list.
