Trump Appears To Be More Responsive To Fawning Foreign Leader’s Request For Ventilators Than He Is To Blue State Governors

What happened to 'America First'?

President Donald Trump has been resisting sending help in the form of ventilators to states with Democratic governors because they won’t kiss his a**, but he’s apparently more than willing to send them overseas to a foreign leader he likes.

Trump has repeatedly downplayed the severity of the coronavirus pandemic and refuses to believe that states such as New York are in dire need of medical equipment like ventilators. And he only doubled down on that and then some when he told reporters that he refuses to take calls from Democratic governors unless they bend the knee. Presumably, he wants them to praise his response to the pandemic even though his response has been terrible and resulted in the current debacle we find ourselves in.

Nearly 120,000 Americans are infected and the death toll is approaching 2,000.

Again, these states need ventilators and Trump is not delivering out of sheer pettiness. But he has no problem sending ventilators to the United Kingdom, where his BFF Prime Minister Boris Johnson is being treated for the virus.

During a staged photo-op/campaign ad in front of a hospital ship being sent to New York on Saturday, Trump mentioned that Johnson called him and relayed his need for ventilators in his own country. Trump responded by agreeing to send them.

Understandably, Twitter users were outraged, especially since Trump is choosing to help another country instead of helping Americans.

So much for Trump’s promise to put America first. Clearly, he’ll only help Americans if they suck up to him or he gets a favor in return. Despicable.
