Trump Attends Women’s Empowerment Event, Falls Flat On His Face With Idiotic Statement

This was the WRONG thing to joke about at this event.

President Donald Trump does not give a damn about women. This was evident in the way that the president pushed Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused of sexual assault by many women, through the Supreme Court nomination process. It was also evident in the way he attacked and mocked Kavanaugh’s first accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. And it’s more than clear when you consider Trump’s own comments and actions toward women, which include multiple accusations of sexual assault and rape.

But Trump’s dismissal of women goes much further. Trump thinks so little of women that he continuously disrespects them even while making supportive statements. No one should forget what Trump did last year, when he hosted a Women’s Empowerment Event at the White House and mansplained who Susan B. Anthony was to an audience full of women.

Trump started off this event by bragging about how “My cabinet is full of really incredible women leaders.” Trump pretended to care about women by saying:

Since the very beginning, women have driven, and I mean, each generation of Americans, towards a more free and more prosperous future. These patriots are women like the legendary Abigail Adams, right? Who, during the founding, urged her husband to remember the rights of women. She was very much a pioneer in that way.

We’ve been blessed with courageous heroes like Harriet Tubman who escaped slavery. And went on to deliver hundreds of others to freedom, first in the underground railroad and then as a spy for the union army.”

Then, Trump joked that his attendees wouldn’t know who Susan B. Anthony was, as he mansplained her to an audience of women much smarter than himself:

She was very, very courageous, believe me. Around we’ve had leaders like Susan B. Anthony. Have you heard of Susan B. Anthony? I’m shocked that you’ve heard of her — who dreamed of a much more fair and equal future and an America where women themselves as she said helped to make laws and elect the lawmakers, and that’s what’s happening more and more.”

Clearly, even when Trump makes supportive statements about women, he can’t help but put them down. He truly doesn’t respect women, which is why these humiliating jokes and mistakes continue to happen. You can watch this moment below:
