Attorney Joe diGenova claims that the White House has identified the individual who authored the best selling book A Warning, an exposé about the inner-workings of Trump’s administration. The author, supposedly a senior Trump administration official, also penned an op-ed that was published by the New York Times in 2018. According to the Daily Caller, diGenova said on WMAL’s “Mornings on the Mall” on Monday that the official behind the op-ed and book will be fired soon.

In the op-ed, “Anonymous” wrote that “many of the senior officials in his [Trump’s] own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”

While saying, “We want the administration to succeed,” the author notes that “our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.”

The publisher of A Warning said the author plans to donate a substantial amount of royalties to “non-profit organizations that focus on government accountability and on supporting those who stand up for the truth in repressive countries around the world,” a representative for the author, Matt Latimer, told the Washington Post last year.

One of the claims in the book, according to HuffPo’s Yashar Ali, is that high-level White House aides were sure that Vice President Mike Pence would support the use of the 25th Amendment to have Trump removed from office because of his mental incapacity.

…highly placed White House officials did a back-of-the-envelope tally of which Cabinet members would be prepared to sign a letter invoking Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which says that if the president is deemed unfit to discharge the duties of his office, the vice president would assume the role.”

The author, according to the Post, describes Trump as “like a twelve-year-old in an air traffic control tower, pushing the buttons of government indiscriminately, indifferent to the planes skidding across the runway and the flights frantically diverting away from the airport” and we just can’t argue with that description.

“All I can tell you is that normal people who spend any time with Donald Trump are uncomfortable by what they witness,” the author wrote. “He stumbles, slurs, gets confused, is easily irritated, and has trouble synthesizing information, not occasionally but with regularity. Those who would claim otherwise are lying to themselves or to the country.”

What would make this timeline that we’ve all found ourselves trapped in even more bizarre would be if Kellyanne Conway was the author. It would also explain her relationship with her husband. Hey, I can dream, can’t I?
