Donald Trump is not a popular man. Not only do the majority of American citizens (as well as citizens around the world) hate his guts with the passion of a thousand burning suns, he’s not super popular within his own administration either.
That’s becoming strikingly clear by the influx of Republican House members who are jumping the hell off the Trump train at a staggering rate.
Now, you’re probably like me — wondering why so many die-hard Republicans are suddenly abandoning ship after putting up with nearly three years of Trump’s bullshit thus far. Why in the hell does it matter now, right? You’re already too deeply associated with him to save face.
Well, as it turns out, it’s not his cruel policies and blatant racism that’s urging them towards the door. It’s the fact that he’s losing. The man has literally never had one single day of positive approval ratings in his entire time as president.

MSNBC’s Howard Fineman tweeted out an eye-opening chart that served as an explanation for the sudden outflow of House Republicans.
“No president since the invention of polling has been ‘underwater’ on job approval for his entire tenure, starting on Day 1. @realDonaldTrump is accomplishing that feat and now, again, he’s sinking deeper into the abyss. Why do you think so many House #Gopers are quitting?” Fineman captioned the chart.

Now, again, we’re all aware that he’s not a popular man. So, what makes this chart and the fact that Trump’s never had a single day of positive approval ratings so important? The fact that this has never happened to any president before. Ever.
The method of presidential approval ratings used today dates all the way back to the Truman administration in the 1940s. And since the initiation of this method, not one single president has been as consistently unpopular as Donald Trump.
House Republicans are bailing like underage fratboys at a fraternity kegger because they know he’s about to tank.
