Donald Trump likes to brag about stock market gains on Twitter and at his rallies, but of course, he’s silent when the Dow drops. America has lost just under forty thousand lives to the massive COVID-19 pandemic that has gripped the world and brought the U.S. economy to a standstill. Unemployment numbers are through the roof as Americans self-quarantine to flatten the coronavirus curve.
But the country is grieving, so of course, the president brought up stock market gains during his coronavirus presser on Saturday because that’s just who he is.
The pandemic needs to be looked upon as a health crisis because that’s what it is. Republicans, including the president, would like nothing better than to throw the doors open to get us back to work even if some of us die. They’ve already said the quiet part out loud on multiple occasions. Conservatives would throw you in the morgue to save Wall Street.
And honestly, the market had nowhere to go but up at this point.

Right, President COVID-45, let’s not think about all of the deaths around us…look at THE DOW! Trump seems to be on a bender today as he struggles with words while lashing out at reporters, and of course, attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Trump even whined about people “trying to politicize the issue of testing” by reporting on America’s testing failures.
But Trump is deflecting again. It’s what he does to distract us from his many failures. Trump knew of a looming pandemic in November, and instead of springing into action, he declined to inform the public. Then, Trump held ego-rallies and played golf. As I’m typing, Trump is bragging about his presidency, and if anyone buys what he’s selling, then they are the con man’s mark.
Trump is the “me, me, me” president who has a lot of blood on his tiny hands. If any other president did a fragment of what Trump has done, he would be hauled out of the White House by members of both parties.
