Donald Trump’s COVID-19 press briefing on Monday was bonkers after he lashed out at a female White House correspondent for asking a question about his slow response a few months ago to the looming pandemic. The failed former vodka salesman continued down that path today as he compared himself to Captain Bligh from Mutiny on the Bounty, a movie about a man who shackled and abused his crew.
Trump’s day just got worse after former President Barack Obama offered a ringing endorsement for Joe Biden. And the one thing Americans don’t need — during the pandemic that has taken over twenty-four thousand lives in the U.S. and put countless people out of work as they self-quarantine to flatten the coronavirus curve — is a leader making himself out to be the victim.
Trump spoke with coronavirus survivors at the White House on Tuesday, and of course, he turned it into a campaign moment after one young woman said she thought she was going to die from the disease.
In response, Trump said, “I’m not going to speak for her, but I don’t see her voting for Sleepy Joe Biden… If she votes for Sleepy Joe, I’d be surprised.”

Dr. Trump also appeared to turn the White House event into an infomercial for hydroxychloroquine, an anti-malaria drug touted by the president that the CIA advised its employees against taking it, due to potentially dangerous side effects, including death.
“What do you have to use? They’ve been taking it for 40 years for malaria … I haven’t heard a bad story,” Trump told the COVIDD-19 survivors at the White House.
Trump has become increasingly more defensive and unhinged in recent days after being called out over his mishandling of the pandemic. Trump’s behavior at the daily COVID-19 briefings that he’s turned into rallies for his campaign, only confirms that there’s no one at the helm as Americans go through this apocalyptic hell. For Trump, it’s all about him even after tens of thousands of Americans died.
