Trump Calls For Boycott Of MLB In Fuming Statement After The League Said It Would Move It’s All-Star Game Out Of GA

Why does he think he's still relevant?

Donald Trump no longer has any social media platforms to take to when he feels the need to air his grievances. And trust me, despite no longer being in the White House, he still has grievances a plenty. So, recently, it seems he has taken up writing “official” statements to get his gripes out to the world.

In one of his most recent official complaints, the former president set his sights on Major League Baseball after the league announced its decision to move its All-Star game out of the state of Georgia on the heels of the state’s disgusting, restrictive new voting laws that disallow people from even handing out beverages to voters who are waiting in line.

In true Trump fashion, the ex-president reminded us all that he’s actually a big fan of “cancel culture,” so long as the victim of it isn’t someone on their own side when he released a statement calling on the American people to boycott Major League Baseball.

“Baseball is already losing tremendous numbers of fans, and now they leave Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they are afraid of the Radical Left Democrats who do not want voter I.D., which is desperately needed, to have anything to do with our elections,” the former president’s official statement on the matter reads.

Trump goes on to add, “Boycott baseball and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections. Are you listening Coke, Delta, and all!”

As I’m sure you’ve seen lately, Conservatives are also miffed with large companies like Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines, both of which operate out of the state of GA and have spoken out against the Jim Crow-style voting restrictions. Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey said his company is “disappointed,” while Delta CEO Ed Bastian said the new Georiga law was “unacceptable and does not match Delta’s Values.”

Trump’s statement calling for a boycott against the MLB joins several other Right-wing talking heads who have called for revengeful measures against the league and other Georgia companies that have spoken out against the laws.

Senator Mike Lee said on Twitter, “Why does @MLB still have antitrust immunity? It’s time for the federal government to stop granting special privileges to specific, favored corporations — especially those that punish their political opponents.”

Senator Ted Cruz shared Senator Lee’s statement, adding: “EXACTLY right.”

President Biden, on the other hand, has expressed his support for the MLB’s decision, calling the new voting law “Jim Crow on steroids.”

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement, “Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box.”

However, the Atlanta Braves were not near as supportive of the decision, saying in a statement that they are “deeply disappointed” by the relocation.

“Unfortunately, businesses, employees, and fans in Georgia are the victims of this decision,” the team’s statement reads.
