Trump Campaign Reportedly Still Refuses To Pony Up A Combined $1.82 Million To 14 Cities For Rally Expenses They Desperately Need Now To Fight COVID-19

Pay your bills, Donald!

Donald Trump has a nasty habit of not wanting to settle his debts, and his position as president of the United States has done nothing to rectify that.

Over the course of his campaigning days and subsequent presidency, Trump has held numerous MAGA rallies in numerous different cities across the nation, yet he never wants to pay off his debt to those cities for the costs they were saddled with as a result of his event.

And now that the coronavirus has the entire economy on a screeching halt and local governments are doing everything they can to save their constituents with minimal help from the federal government, many city officials are now calling for Trump to pony up.

A new report from NBC News alleges that “fourteen municipal governments — from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Wildwood, New Jersey — want Trump’s campaign committee to clear a combined $1.82 million worth of public safety-related debt connected to Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ campaign rallies.”

These particular debts of Trump’s have gone unpaid for months now and it was starting to seem as though cities had all but given up on recouping their costs from the president. However, now that the pandemic is killing people by the thousands, it appears as though many local officials have reignited their fight to get their money from Trump since the federal aid is scarce and local places are being forced to rely on their own devices.

Spokane, Washington city council member Kate Burke said, “Without this money, we cannot help our most vulnerable, and I guarantee we do not have enough money to prevent lives lost and homes lost.”

The city manager of Battle Creek, Michigan, Rebecca Fleury, whose city is owed a startling $93,000 from the president’s campaign, stated, “Any revenue received would be helpful to our general fund, which supports the majority of our operating costs.”

It’s a sad world we live in when cities are forced to try to collect money owed to them by the president of this nation because without it they can’t afford to take care of their people in the midst of a pandemic.
