Trump Canceled His Scheduled Trip To CDC, Contradicts White House’s Explanation For Reason Why

Donald Trump has changed his reasoning behind not going to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta amid the deadly coronavirus outbreak that has gone worldwide. Initially, the White House said, “The CDC has been proactive and prepared since the very beginning, and the President does not want to interfere with the CDC’s mission to protect the health and welfare of their people and the agency.” Yeah, OK.

All of that has changed now, though. Maybe. Nothing is ever clear with this administration. Trump signed the $8.3 billion funding package for the COVID-19 outbreak, and then he contradicted the explanation given by the White House about why he had canceled his trip to the CDC.

Trump just told reporters, “We may go — they thought there was a problem with CDC with somebody who had the virus,” but it turned out negative, adding: “I may be going.”

That statement is in stark contrast to his own administration’s earlier claim. These are strange times we’re living in where the president contradicts the president on a daily basis, but now with a looming pandemic in our midst, what the public needs is consistency, and the truth would be nice for a change.

Trump is on the case, though, and reportedly plans to hit the golf course.

Oof!

This:

Literally no one is surprised that Trump is visiting a red state, and indeed, we feel awful over what the Americans in Tennessee are enduring, but we have a novel idea. Maybe, just maybe, if Trump tweeted less and went golfing less, he could fit in two trips. Americans from all of the states are panicking over the coronavirus while President Mar-a-Lardass will be funneling money into his pocket with another taxpayer-funded trip that will benefit one of his resorts.

This president can’t even pretend to care.
