Look, I honestly can’t say with any shred of certainty whether Donald Trump actually has or ever had coronavirus. Now, let me make it clear, I am not asserting anything. My personal opinion is that this administration has literally gaslit us so much over the course of this abusive relationship they call a presidency that the American people legitimately are not able to discern what is truth and what is a lie anymore.
However, what is clear as day to me is the fact that, whether truly infected or not, Donald Trump is doing his damn best to capitalize on his coronavirus diagnosis and experience in every conceivable way, just a few shorts weeks before the impending election, where he’s predicted to suffer a pretty serious loss.
Truthfully, we never expected anything less from the guy. I think we all knew in our heart of hearts that unless Trump ended up succumbing to the virus, he would find a way to use it to push his narrative on the pandemic and probably even circle in on some sort of “miracle cure” right before he goes head to head with Joe Biden in an attempt to convince the public that he’s been right along and this thing just isn’t a big deal.
And, well, we were right.

This afternoon, after recently refusing to participate in any virtual debates with his Democratic opponent, Trump held a virtual MAGA rally on the Rush Limbaugh Radio Show. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long at all for the President to actually declare that they have a “cure” for the deadly virus that’s now claimed more than 200,000 American lives.
“We’re rounding the turn on the pandemic,” Trump declared on the show, “and I’ll have something to say about that because I’m telling you, we have a cure. More than just a therapeutic, we have a cure.”

Folks, there is simply no way this is true. No medical experts, health professionals, entities working on a vaccination — nothing and no one with even an ounce of legitimacy has said anything about a “cure” to COVID-19. Trump is just desperate, and it’s showing. However, while we know that it’s a lie, the dangerousness of a claim like this simply cannot be overstated.
