Trump Confidant Explains Why POTUS Was Reluctant To Prepare For The COVID-19 Outbreak And It All Seems To Make Sense Now

It's all starting to make sense now.

Throughout the course of this coronavirus pandemic, Donald Trump has been clearly reluctant to enact any sort of plan or process that’s even remotely helpful to the American people in any way.

Frankly, when it comes down to it, the president had more than a sufficient amount of time to get ahead of this thing and most likely prevent a good portion of the nearly 85,000 deaths this nation has suffered so far, as well as the thousands more to inevitably come.

However, he just didn’t.

Multiple reports have shown that, despite numerous early warnings and recommendations, Trump simply did not act. And even now that the United States has skyrocketed to the top in the number of infected in a matter of weeks with no real end in sight, the guy still seems to be reluctant to follow in the footsteps of other successful countries — i.e. mass orders of supplies, widespread testing, etc.

And now one close confidant to the president seems to have a reason for Donald’s unimpressive behavior.

According to a report from the Financial Times, the inside source is pinning the blame for the lackluster response on Trump’s son-in-law and White House advisor, Jared Kushner.

Evidently, Donald’s reluctance to prepare the nation for an impending pandemic was a result of Kushner’s warnings that pre-ordering mass tests, ventilators, and other crucial medical equipment could shake the stock market that Trump depends so heavily on.

“Jared had been arguing that testing too many people, or ordering too many ventilators, would spook the markets and so we just shouldn’t do it,” the anonymous source with close ties to the president told the Times. “That advice worked far more powerfully on [Trump] than what the scientists were saying. He thinks they always exaggerate.”

Of course, despite Trump’s willingness to throw the country to the wolves in an effort to save his reelection chances with a thriving US stock market, things still ended up crashing and burning right before his eyes as the outbreak grew to nearly uncontrollable proportions, due in large part to his lack of an early response.

However, even Trump himself has willingly admitted in recent days that his reluctance to administer widespread testing across the nation stems from a self-serving agenda, stating, “In a way, by doing all this testing we make ourselves look bad.”

There’s no denying at this point that Donald Trump has always and will always prioritize his own well being over that of the American public.

Keep that in mind as everything opens back up.
