Trump Confronts Damaging Russia Reports About Him, Calls FBI Officials “Dirty Cops”

No president should ever say this.

The President of the United States only continues to further insult the intelligence community, and today he went off the rails.

Right before leaving for a farmers convention in New Orleans, Trump held a press spray where he reacted to reports that FBI officials were investigating his possible connection to Russia. When a member of the press corps asked Trump about the New York Times report that stated there was a counter-intelligence investigation by the FBI over concerns that Trump may be a Russian agent, Trump flipped out. The president even targeted journalists as he said:

I never worked for Russia. And you know that answer better than anybody. I never worked for Russia. Not only did I never work for Russia, I think it’s a disgrace that you even asked that question because it’s a whole big fat hoax. It’s just a hoax.”

Of course Trump would call the search for the truth “a disgrace.” The president also said some extremely disrespectful things about the FBI, which should never have been uttered from the mouth of a president. Once again undermining the intelligence community, Trump called FBI officials who wanted to investigate him “dirty cops.” He also stated that they were “scoundrels” and “liars,” which is truly ironic considering the president’s track record for dishonesty and making things up.

In particular, Trump focused on blasting former FBI Director James Comey, stating that he had done America a solid by firing Comey (even though Trump fired him to protect himself from the FBI investigation). Trump said:

He was a bad cop and he was a dirty cop. He lied. He really lied”

Trump was combative and angry during this press spray, proving that the consequences of his wrongdoings are really catching up with him. You can watch Trump get his feathers ruffled and become visibly agitated in the video below:
