Trump, During Pennsylvania Speech, Claims Health Care Workers Are “Running Into Death Just Like Soldiers Running Into Bullets” And “It’s A Beautiful Thing To See.”

What. The. Hell.

Trump supporters have told us that they voted for the president because he tells it like it is. Then, when he says something, like, for example, about injecting disinfectant in your veins, those same Trumpers try to explain what he really meant. Well, they’re going to have to explain some of the remarks Donald Trump just made in Pennsylvania where he toured an Owens & Minor medical supply facility near Allentown that has ramped up production of personal protective equipment.

Most of us are still trying to wrap our heads around his suggestion of bringing light into the body and mainlining Lysol, and yet, here we are with another rambling speech from President Trump in which he appears to glorify death. Trump spoke of health care workers such as “doctors and nurses” who are working on the front lines amid the coronavirus pandemic. Trump said they “probably shouldn’t” go through the hospital doors, “but they can’t get there fast enough.”

Trump said the health care workers are “running into death just like soldiers running into bullets” and that “it’s an incredible thing to see. It’s a beautiful thing to see.”

Watch:

Trump just casually talked about death while the U.S. death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic is now at more than eighty-five thousand. There are a lot of grieving families in America right now. And even worse, they are sheltering at home to flatten the coronavirus curve while they are grieving.

In mid-April, it was reported that between 10 percent and 20 percent of U.S. coronavirus cases were health care workers. The pandemic is hitting doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals hard. Still, Trump apparently thinks it’s a “beautiful thing to see” as they fight against the disease the president failed to address when he first learned of the looming threat in November.

We know what Trump might have meant — and it’s hard to tell with this guy — but amid a  national crisis, he should be careful with his words. As a matter of fact, a sitting president should always be careful with their words.
