Trump Economic Adviser Larry Kudlow’s Wife Reportedly Had An Easy Time Getting A Small Business Loan While Some Real Small Businesses Were Denied Help

If she got a loan she needs to give it back right now.

While small businesses across the country are reeling because they couldn’t access forgivable loans from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the wife of Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow had an easy time applying, despite the fact that she’s a self-employed “artist” who doesn’t need the money.

Judith Kudlow charges between $10,000 and $20,000 per commission and likely has few if any employees that she and her husband, whose assets are reportedly worth $2 million, couldn’t handle paying out of their own pockets during this rough economic time in our nation.

Despite their wealth, however, Judith Kudlow applied for forgivable loans under the PPP and her bank had no problem accepting it, as Larry Kudlow bragged during an interview with Politico.

“My wife Judy… she is a self-employed artist-painter, very distinguished one, some renown, she could use some help for her operation,” he said. “She went to a local, community bank up by our place in Connecticut and apparently it’s just a one-page form, that’s all it is. It couldn’t be easier.”

Again, Judith Kudlow is an artist and clearly does not need money from the Paycheck Protection Program. Her business is not even close to being essential either. I’m sure there are many truly struggling artists in this country who would love to get government loans. But there’s no way they would get approved. And neither should Kudlow.

It’s also in poor taste for Larry Kudlow to brag about it while pretending his wife could use the financial help. He could give her the money himself. Instead, she’s trying to take money from real small businesses that have a real economic impact in communities across the country.

Needless to say, Kudlow’s status as one of Trump’s economic advisers likely gave his wife an advantage. Of course, the White House denies it.

“Larry Kudlow’s wife is a small business owner and private citizen. Any speculation that there is something improper or nefarious taking place with her application is just false and more media spin,” White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement provided to ABC News.

Taxpayer money should bail out small businesses, not an overpriced artist who has a rich husband. And this is happening as the Post Office faces financial ruin because Trump refuses to provide any stimulus money to save it and the 630,000 employees — many of them US veterans — working there.

It should also be noted that Barron Trump’s private school received PPP funds as well even though it already enjoys large endowments from wealthy benefactors and organizations.

If Kudlow’s wife received money from this program, then she directly contributed to the program running out of money and should be forced to return it, as should Barron’s school. This is the exact kind of corrupt activity Americans feared would happen when the stimulus package became law.
